Venezuelan designer and entrepreneur Maria Moschiano, creator of the Style and Life Seminar, advises not to be a slave to fashion but to create a style of your own. She reveals that the new season brings classics back and says good bye to miniskirt and dishevelment. It is time to organize the closet in order to know what to include, throw away and keep for a chic and beautiful 2011.

Being in style without becoming a slave to it but making it personal, demands some creativity. Common sense and a little knowledge tell us when something suits us well or makes us look as in a costume, this is what gives way to the creation of a personal style.

"This is why I designed my Style and Life Seminar", says Moschiano, who brought together a prestigious team of experts in order to train executive women to obtain the tools for the creation of their own style, a comprehensive concept. "We will continue developing this project, which will become a book in 2011", she pointed out.

In terms of fashion, Moschiano agrees that the most influential designers have shown a return to classics on their 2011 runways.

It is time to look into the closet and to get rid of anything out of style, to include what is in and to keep the classics. "Give that closet a good clean up. In 2011, we go back to classics, we say goodbye to the miniskirt and welcome back the maxi-skirt. There is a strong trend in textures such as gauze, silk chiffon and cottons. Corals and soft blues will be in. We will wear gauze dresses with prints, also the eternal cashmere.

Gondoliere hats, maxi rings and dramatic makeup will be seen as well. Moschiano Couture brand manager says that oversized necklaces, bracelets and bangles will appear in acrylic, metal or wooden colors. Long earrings will also be very fashionable.

For gentlemen "the trend is to combine the elements of the classic uniform with more sporty details, all in khaki and camouflage, bringing safari into town. For the evening, a very clean and classic line based on a palette of grays, very Prince of Wales".

What is out

Gone are excesses and sequins. "Miniskirts should be taken out of the closet", says Maria Moschiano, as well as oversized bags, stiletto heels and small accessories. The casual rocker look should be dismissed and a more classic look welcomed, no more pony tails because natural, windblown manes are now in".

What stays

Classic style definitely stays, what is permanent and transcends any fashion trend.

Among the pieces that should be kept in the closet: a black two piece suit, in gabardine and a quality tailored cut. Adorable embellished and embroidered jeans, animal print combined with white linen or cotton shirts. Black gabardine trousers, a long black gown with a moderate décolletage and few embellishments. Pashminas in different colors and textures.
